HONG KONG/LONDON, July 29 (Reuters) – Standard Chartered (StanChart) reported on Wednesday first-half pretax profit rose 9%, bolstered by growing wealth, markets and global banking revenue at the emerging markets-focused lender.
StanChart, which earns most of its revenue in Asia and Africa, said pretax profit for the first six months of this year reached $4.78 billion. That compared with $4.38 billion a year earlier and the $4.52 billion average of 16 analyst estimates compiled by the bank.
